4-2 Just One of Many Issues Campbell is Wrong On

Debbie Campbell is dead wrong on the issue of 4-2. As a man of wealth and one who conducts numerous businesses, I do provide housing for individuals who are not able to own homes. Also, some do not want to own homes and others are in a temporary situation, so owning a home is not in their best interest.

Since the inception of 4-2, there has been an increase in the need for rentals. This has unfairly targeted people who are not able to own or afford to rent on their own. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't mind renting more units, it just created a situation that we did not have enough places to rent.

My understanding is that when Mrs. Campbell purchased her home, she was aware that a major university was just down the street and had been there for quite some time. Also, as a Landlord, I was wondering if Mrs. Campbell pushed for the same 4-2 law in the Silver Beach, VA area. These are just some concerns many people have with Mrs. Campbell and rightfully so.

  1. Mr. Dinkies, I'm not a man of wealth and don't own a home. I have rented here in Salisbury all of my adult life and have no problem whatever with 4-2. According to your logic, I guess that makes me pretty stupid and "dead wrong".

So I guess I'm stupid, and will never conduct "numerous" businesses as you do. I am, however, smart enough to know that you should've spelled the word "their" AS "t-h-e-i-r" near the end of paragraph one...not as "there." It's not the people like me who are too stupid to run a business that worries me. It's the people like you who run multiple businesses and can't manage fifth grade spelling that do.

Go enjoy your wealth and self-importance while you watch the election results in April. Those results will show you who the majority of voters feel has their best interests at heart.

  2. I appreciate you pointing out my spelling error. Everyone is an expert at something, mine is not always grammar.

I was actually pointing out the situation of many people in the city, not necessarily yours. There is nothing wrong with renting, it is a life choice that fits many people.

The original 4-2 was intended for the whole city. That would have caused some repercussions throughout the city as a whole for many people on a fixed or low income.

I apologize if the original post offended you as a renter, I was targeting those who set policy. No doubt it is good thing if people own their own home but that does not suit everyone in different life situations.
